SlimDoggy, is like a RunKeeper for dogs. It lets you track your dog’s activities and food consumption so that you can manage your dog’s weight.

Searchable database of about 3000 brand name pet foods or you can create your own (think: Bacon!). Now you dont have to guess how much to feed your dog, you will know!

App includes ingredients and ranking of many of the dog foods in our database. Now you can see what is in your dogs food and can compare against other Brands.

Save money and improve your dog’s quality of life by using SlimDoggy!

Continued use of GPS running in the background for activity tracking can dramatically decrease battery life.

Great start
What I would love from the developers of this app is the ability to set a goal and track progress towards it (ie Id like to walk my dog 4k at least 5x/week, and show me how many times Ive reached 4 k so far this week) and also the ability to add a comment/note to an activity or day. I know theres simply not enough data on the subject to figure out how many calories she was burning carrying a weighted pack, or pulling a weight in harness, but if I could leave myself a note mentioning those extras so I remember it was more than just a walk today, that would be great.
Great idea
What a useful tool to help me manage my dogs weight. I never know how much to feed her and now I have a guide to keep me on point. Also- I can track calories by activity so I am able to adjust my daily feedings based on the activity level for that day. I have contacted the developer and it sounds like there are some amazing features coming as well. But this APP now if you have a dog!
Awesome app
Never occurred to us that there would be an app that could calculate calorie intake and calorie burn for my dogs. I now know that ive been overfeeding our rescue dog - just a little - and we now have her on an appropriate exercise program and feeding schedule - all thanks to this app. Everyone that has an animal should get this ..... You can track your dogs daily food and exercise and the app automatically tells you how many calories youve fed, and how many calories youve burned each day ..... Quite clever. Great new years resolution for you and your pet !
Wildly inaccurate GPS, tiny bit buggy
First, there’s a lot to like in this app. It uses the real vet formula to give you a more accurate estimate of your dogs daily caloric needs (none of the 2% bodyweight junk). The meal tracker needs some polishing, but it works okay with just a few bugs. I’ve been keeping track of my dog’s calorie intake with Soulver, but this app makes things much easier. The biggest problem is that the makers advertised it as ‘run keeper for dogs.’ It’s definitely not. The GPS is wildly inaccurate. A known 5.5 mile run showed up as a 3.4 mile run. Map My Run and RunKeeper both have little trouble getting an accurate distance and pace and giving me an accurate route map. SlimDoggy’s route map was just a mess of jagged lines criss-crossing my running route. Bad SlimDoggy! You can manually add workouts, but the extremely poor GPS performance still looses it a star. The rest of the app isn’t really intuitive to use. It took some fiddling to figure out how to add foods. They have lots of foods already loaded on the app, but the names of the food get cut off after a certain length. My dog’s food has a long name, so I had to manually enter it into the database with a shortened name. Also, trying to adjust the amount of food you’ve fed your dog in the app is buggy. It frequently will double add food, or just lose track of all the food I’d fed him that day and I have to re-enter everything. So the app loses another star. There’s ALOT of potential in this app. I’ll keep using it and hope it gets better.
SlimDoggy
I love this app for helping me keep track of what I feed my dogs -- treats included -- so that I dont inadvertently and unintentionally over- or under-feed my dogs. I can also keep track of their activity as long as I dont forget to do so.
